Roadwork

Typical closure times are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for weekday closures and 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for weeknight closures. Lane closures are allowed all day Saturday, and Sunday (as needed).

Please note closures are subject to changes due to weather and schedule.

I-820 Closures

  • I-820 Southbound Mainlanes
    • Daily, Aug 12-Sep 14, 9a-3p: Various lanes will be closed on I-820 southbound mainlanes between Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd and John T White Blvd for general construction.
    • Nightly, Aug 19-Sep 21, 9p-6a: Various lanes of I-820 southbound mainlanes will be closed between Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd and Trinity Blvd for overhead sign installation. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Daily, Sep 9-14, 9a-3p: The right, outside lane of I-820 southbound mainlanes will be closed between SH 10 and Trinity Blvd for traffic safety device installation.
    • Nightly, Sep 9-13, 9p-6a: I-820 southbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between SH 10 and Randol Mill Rd for pavement operations. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Effective, Feb 26, 2024: The southbound I-820 alignment is now a left-hand exit prior to SH 10. WATCH FOR NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN. JPG
  • I-820 Northbound Mainlanes
    • Nightly, Aug 19-Sep 21, 9p-6a: Various lanes of I-820 northbound mainlanes will be closed between Trinity Blvd and Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd for overhead sign installation. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Daily, Sep 7-21, 9a-3p: I-820 northbound right and left outside lanes will be closed at various points between SH 10 and Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd for safety device installation and general construction.
    • Nightly, Sep 9-13, 9p-6a: I-820 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Randol Mill Rd and Trinity Blvd for pavement operations. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Effective, May 21, 2024: I-820 northbound mainlanes are moved into a long-term detour pattern onto the northbound frontage road bridge crossing the Trinity Railway Express and returning to the mainlane alignment before the SH 10 underpass. This detour is required for the replacement of the I-820 northbound bridge over the Trinity Railway Express.
  • I-820 Southbound Entrance from Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd
    • Daily, Sep 7-28, 9a-3p: The I-820 southbound entrance ramp from Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd will be closed for pavement work. Traffic will follow the detour to next available entrance ramps from SH 10.
  • I-820 Southbound Entrance from SH 10/SH 183
    • Effective Aug 18, 2024: The I-820 southbound entrance from SH 10/SH 183 was placed into service.
  • I-820 Northbound Entrance from SH 10
    • Daily, Sep 12-21, 9a-3p: The I-820 northbound entrance from SH 10 will be closed for general construction. Traffic will be detoured to the next entrance ramp.
    • Nightly, Aug 23-Sep 14, 9p-6a: The I-820 northbound entrance from SH 10 will be closed in coordination with mainlane paving operations. Traffic will be detoured to the next entrance ramp.
  • I-820 Northbound Exit to SH 10
    • Effective, Dec 4, 2023: The I-820 northbound exit to SH 10 was moved south of the Trinity Rail Express overpass near Trinity Blvd.
  • I-820 Southbound Entrance from Trinity Blvd
    • Daily, Aug 20-Sep 14, 9a-3p: The I-820 southbound entrance from Trinity Blvd will be closed for general construction. Traffic will be detoured north on I-820 mainlanes, exit Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd, cross under I-820, and return on I-820 southbound mainlanes. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • I-820 Northbound Exit to SH 121 Southbound
    • Anticipated, September 2024: The I-820 northbound to SH 121 southbound direct connector is anticipated to be placed into service.
  • I-820 Southbound Entrance from Randol Mill Rd
    • Nightly, Sep 17-21, 9p-6a: The I-820 southbound entrance from Randol Mill Rd will be closed for lighting work. Traffic will be directed to the next available entrance ramp.
  • I-820 Northbound Entrance from Randol Mill Rd
    • Effective Jan 22, 2022: The I-820 northbound entrance from Randol Mill Rd shifted onto new pavement. WATCH FOR NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN.
  • I-820 Southbound Frontage Road
    • Encino Dr to Booth Callloway Rd
      • Effective July 6, 2023: The I-820 southbound frontage road no longer intersects with Booth Calloway Rd. The frontage road now follows a new alignment that intersects SH 10 between I-820 and the signalized intersection with Booth Calloway Rd.
      • Over SH 121/Trinity Rail Express
        • Effective Nov 12, 2021: The I-820 southbound frontage road over SH 121/Trinity Rail Express is closed for reconstruction. Traffic is detoured south to Handley-Ederville Rd, then south to Trinity Blvd, and east to return to I-820.
  • I-820 Northbound Frontage Road
    • John T White Blvd to Randol Mill Rd
      • Daily, Sep 10-28, 9a-3p: Various lanes of the I-820 northbound frontage road between John T White Blvd and Randol Mill Rd will be closed for general construction.
    • SH 10 to Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd
      • Daily, Sep 3-14, 9a-3p: The left, inside lane of I-820 northbound frontage road between SH 10 and Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd will be closed for general construction.
    • Trinity Blvd to SH 10
      • Effective Nov 8, 2023: A new I-820 northbound frontage road connection was opened between Trinity Blvd and SH 10. 

SH 121 Closures

  • SH 121 Southbound Mainlanes
    • Nightly, Aug 19-Sep 21, 9p-6a: SH 121 southbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between SH 10 and Handley-Ederville Rd for overhead sign installation and safety device installation. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Daily, Sep 3-14, 9a-3p: The left, inside lane of SH 121 southbound mainlanes will be closed between Handley-Ederville Rd and Minnis Dr for shoulder work.
    • Nightly, Sep 9-13, 9p-6a: SH 121 southbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between SH 10 and Handley-Ederville Rd for pavement operations. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Effective, Feb 26, 2024: The southbound SH 121 alignment is a a right-hand exit prior to SH 10. WATCH FOR NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN. JPG
  • SH 121 Northbound Mainlanes
    • Nightly, Aug 19-Sep 14, 9p-6a: SH 121 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Handley-Ederville Rd and SH 10 for overhead sign installation. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Daily, Sep 7-23, 9a-3p: Various lanes will be closed on SH 121 northbound mainlanes between Handley-Ederville Rd and SH 10 for traffic safety device work.
    • Nightly, Sep 16-21, 9p-6a: SH 121 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Minnis Dr and SH 10 for bridge joint operations. EXPECT DELAYS.
    • Effective, Jun 22, 2024: The SH 121 northbound mainlanes are in the new, permanent alignment between Handley-Ederville Rd and SH 10. WATCH FOR NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN.
  • SH 121 Northbound Exit to I-820 Southbound
    • Nightly, Sep 16-18, 9p-6a: The direct connector from northbound SH 121 to southbound I-820 will be closed for illumination work. Traffic will be directed to continue on SH 121 northbound mainlanes, exit Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd, cross under I-820, and re-enter from the southbound entrance ramp.
    • Effective July 17, 2021: The new direct connector ramp between the highways is open. The exit for this new ramp is west of Handley-Ederville Rd. WATCH FOR NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN.
  • SH 121 Southbound Entrance from SH 10
    • Effective, Feb 26, 2024: The SH 121 southbound entrance ramp from SH 10 was returned to service.
  • SH 121 Northbound Exit to SH 10
    • Anticipated, Summer 2024: The new SH 121 northbound exit to SH 10 is anticipated to be placed into service. 
  • SH 121 Southbound Exit to Handley-Ederville Rd
    • Daily, Sep 12-14, 9a-3p: The SH 121 southbound exit to Handley-Ederville Rd will be closed for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured to exit Minnis Dr, cross under SH 121, and return on the SH 121 northbound mainlanes exiting Handley-Ederville Rd.
  • SH 121 Southbound Entrance from Handley-Ederville Rd
    • Daily, Sep 3-16, 9a-3p: The SH 121 southbound entrance ramp from Handley-Ederville Rd will be closed intermittently for pavement operations.
  • SH 121 Southbound Frontage Road
    • Daily, Aug 8-Sep 28, 9a-3p: The SH 121 southbound frontage road from SH 10 to Wesley Way will be closed for general construction.
    • Continuously, Sep 3-16: The SH 121 southbound frontage road between Handley-Ederville Rd and Kingsbury Ave will be reduced to one lane for pavement operations.
    • Effective Mar 3, 2021: The SH 10 eastbound ramp to SH 121 southbound frontage road will not provide access to I-820 southbound. Traffic is detoured north on the I-820 northbound frontage road, crossing under I-820 at Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd, and entering I-820 southbound from the entrance ramp. 
  • SH 121 Northbound Frontage Road
    • Daily, Sep 13-28, 9a-3p: The SH 121 northbound frontage road between Handley-Ederville Rd and SH 10 will be closed for general construction. Traffic will be detoured north on Handley-Ederville Rd and east on SH 183/Baker Blvd.

SH 10/Hurst Blvd Closures

  • SH 10 Eastbound
    • Effective July 6, 2023: SH 10 eastbound crossing I-820 was returned to normal service. 
  • SH 10 Westbound
    • Effective July 6, 2023: SH 10 westbound crossing I-820 was returned to service. 
  • SH 10 Westbound Exit to I-820/SH 121 Southbound
    • PERMANENTLY, Nov 11, 2021: The SH 10 westbound exit to I-820/SH 121 southbound is permanently closed for construction of the I-820 southbound frontage road extension to SH 10. Traffic will now use the new entrance ramp available from south of SH 10.
  • SH10 Eastbound Exit to SH 121 Southbound
    • Effective Mar 3, 2021: The SH 10 eastbound ramp to SH 121 southbound frontage road will not provide access to I-820 southbound. Traffic is detoured north on the I-820 northbound frontage road, crossing under I-820 at Glenview Dr/Pipeline Rd, and entering I-820 southbound from the entrance ramp. 

Local Street Closures

  • Handley-Ederville Rd
    • Nightly, Aug 18-Sep 21, 9p-6a: Northbound and southbound Handley-Ederville Rd at SH 121 will be closed for sign installation, pavement markings, and general construction. Follow marked detours.
    • Daily, Sep 5-25, 9a-3p: Northbound and southbound Handley-Ederville Rd at SH 121 will be reduced to one lane each direction for general construction. EXPECT DELAYS.
